Eagle’s goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, has apologized to Nigerians for the team’s disappointing outing at the World Cup in South Africa.A sober Enyeama said after the match against South Korea that the country and, indeed, Africa expected them to give the continent a voice but they failed to deliver.
According to Enyeama, the burden of failure so weighed him down that he could hardly find the right words to describe the not too impressive performance of the team and asked that fans who had supported them all this while should forgive them.

On the other hand, Coach Lagerback said that the team had the potentiality of making it to the next stage and blamed hard luck for its ouster.

He called on FIFA to look into refereeing at the Mundial because the Portuguese that officiated the Nigeria / South match made some unforgivable blumbers that cost Nigeria victory
